Obama’s “Ignoring Laws” Could Lead to Overthrow of Government

The idea of overthrowing the United States government is something none of us wants to contemplate. It would mean another civil war on our soil. Brother and sister against brother and sister. Mothers and Fathers against sons and daughters.

Unfortunately, Barack Obama has decided he is not only above the law of the land, but, also, that Constitutional laws are meaningless to him. The president does not have the Constitutional authority to change laws, but Obama has changed the Affordable Care Act many times since its passage by congress.

He has defied court orders by refusing to turn over requested information on other matters. He has promised to “get to the bottom of” all the scandals surrounding his administration, but nothing ever gets done. His transparent administration is, now, limiting access by the media. He is producing his own photos for the media to publish.

During a congressional committee hearing about the constitutional limits imposed on the presidency and the implications of President Barack Obama’s disregard for implementing the Affordable Care Act as written, one expert testified that the consequences of the president’s behavior were potentially grave. He said that the precedent set by Obama could eventually lead to an armed revolt against the federal government.

On Tuesday, Michael Cannon, Cato Institute’s Director of Health Policy Studies, testified before a congressional committee about the dangers of the president’s legal behavior.

The Rot at the Core of the Obama Administration

I am so tired of the Obama administration’s demeaning of the opposition.  For the past five years Obama has blamed, not only President Bush, but the GOP, Republicans in general, Conservatives, the Tea Party, Fox News, etc. etc. etc.   Whenever Jay Carney is asked a delving question about Obamacare, Benghazi, the IRS, Fast and Furious, spying, etc., he snidely refers to Fox News.  As I’ve stated before, Carney’s “spinning” is so out of control that I’m surprised he doesn’t fall off of the stage.  He has begun to look ridiculous and ineffectual.

Now that the Affordable Care Act is imploding from it’s own ungainly weight, the president is still lying to the American people.  Obama, Carney, Sibelius, and Democrat Congressmen are uttering complete nonsense in trying to explain the fact that Obama lied repeatedly about “If you like your insurance, I guarantee you can keep it.”  (Not an exact quote!)  Their response to this evidence of blatant lying is laughable.

Obama is, admittedly, lazy.  It appears to me that he doesn’t care about the work of running the country.  He is a dreamer, an ideologue, a campaigner.  He is NOT a leader.  He has rudely offended our allies, and kowtowed to our enemies.  I don’t think there is a leader in the world that respects our president.  Unfortunately, that derision carries over to all Americans.  We will be judged for this man’s feckless leadership, and our country has suffered from his arrogant “my way” attitude.

Speaking as an American citizen, who has always been proud of my country…I am embarrassed by our current president and first lady.  I’m sure these are fighting words to some, but that’s my feeling and, as an American citizen, I have a right to it…as of now!

Below is an article by Michael Goodwin.

Thanks to the ObamaCare debacle, Americans are getting a close-up of the rot at the core of the Obama administration.

“The majority of people calling for me to resign I would say are people who I don’t work for,” health czar Kathleen Sebelius says.

Press secretary Jay Carney dismisses all those complaining about the screw-ups as “willfully ignorant” and “partisan.”

The refusal to see any criticism as legitimate helps explain why Obama is a failed president. He rammed ObamaCare through Congress without GOP votes, so it is bizarre to claim now that Republicans permanently forfeited all right to complain. His us-against-them mentality restricts input to those who agree with him.

The same dynamic is playing out in foreign policy. Israel, Saudi Arabia, France and Germany have lost confidence in our policies on Syria, Iran and surveillance. They, too, have been shut out because his way is the only way.

Meanwhile, our enemies have his ear. Their complaints alone are taken seriously.

That’s who he is.

Obama Pressuring Insurance Companies to Keep Quiet

This is a bombshell of a scandal. Obama is pressuring private insurance companies to keep quiet about Obamacare problems. People, do you understand what that means? Totalitarianism! Obama is a tyrant, who is overstepping the boundaries of his position as president.

Think about the ramifications here. If he is willing to “lean” on private businesses to do his bidding, what can we expect from the Affordable Care Act? What pressure is he willing to put on doctors? What kind of care are we going to receive? Who will decide whether we need surgery or not? Who will decide whether we live or die?

Everyone should be aware of this, and be concerned about it. It’s time to let Obama know that he cannot lie to us any longer without consequences.

Proof That Obama Lied…

How can anyone continue to deny media bias?  Do they really want to receive only the news that is spun, or buried, in order to protect Barack Obama?  That, my friends, is state-run news.

NBC news senior investigative correspondent Lisa Myers found buried in the 2010 Affordable Care Act regulations language that predicted “A reasonable range for the percentage of individual policies that would terminate is forty percent to sixty-seven percent.”

Read that again, and then consider that Obama has been lying to the American people for three years, telling us repeatedly that “If you like your current insurance policy, you can keep it under Obamacare.”  Flat out lie!  Yet, according to an analysis done by The Media Research Center, this massive breach of trust garnered only 21 seconds of coverage on NBC Nightly News.  They buried it at the end of the fourth story and offered no follow up on Today.  ABC and CBS completely censored Lisa Myers’ discovery, giving it ZERO coverage on their evening and morning shows.

Open your eyes, people.  You are being lied to and mislead over and over again.  The proof is there…you just have to be willing to look for it and believe it.

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell reacts:

“Barack Obama lied to the American people – repeatedly and with a straight face – every time he insisted that those who like their current healthcare could keep it under Obamacare. And he’ll keep lying to the American people because the liberal media refuse to hold him accountable.

“NBC News, whose own reporter found the language in Obamacare proving Obama knowingly lied to the people for over three years, gave this bombshell revelation a pathetic 21 seconds of coverage on Nightly News. There was no follow-up on Today. In other words, NBC News buried their own reporter to protect Obama.

“This sends a clear message to the American people. As far as the liberal broadcast networks are concerned, when Barack Obama lies, it’s not news. What would Richard Nixon have given for a press corps this corrupt?”

Thomas Sowell: Who’s really shutting down the government?

AR-131009546.jpg&MaxW=315&MaxH=315

I’m reposting Thomas Sowell’s excellent report on Who’s Really Shutting Down the Government.  Good lesson on the constitution for the uninformed, and good advice for the GOP.

Even when it comes to something as basic, and apparently as simple and straightforward, as the question of who shut down the federal government, there are diametrically opposite answers, depending on whether you talk to Democrats or to Republicans.

There is really nothing complicated about the facts. The Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted all the money required to keep all government activities going — except for Obamacare.

This is not a matter of opinion. You can check the Congressional Record.

As for the House of Representatives’ right to grant or withhold money, that is not a matter of opinion either. You can check the Constitution of the United States. All spending bills must originate in the House of Representatives, which means that Congressmen there have a right to decide whether or not they want to spend money on a particular government activity.

Whether Obamacare is good, bad or indifferent is a matter of opinion. But it is a matter of fact that members of the House of Representatives have a right to make spending decisions based on their opinion.

Obamacare is indeed “the law of the land,” as its supporters keep saying, and the Supreme Court has upheld its Constitutionality.

But the whole point of having a division of powers within the federal government is that each branch can decide independently what it wants to do or not do, regardless of what the other branches do, when exercising the powers specifically granted to that branch by the Constitution.

The hundreds of thousands of government workers who have been laid off are not idle because the House of Representatives did not vote enough money to pay their salaries or the other expenses of their agencies — unless they are in an agency that would administer Obamacare.

Since we cannot read minds, we cannot say who — if anybody — “wants to shut down the government.” But we do know who had the option to keep the government running and chose not to. The money voted by the House of Representatives covered everything that the government does, except for Obamacare.

The Senate chose not to vote to authorize that money to be spent, because it did not include money for Obamacare. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says that he wants a “clean” bill from the House of Representatives, and some in the media keep repeating the word “clean” like a mantra. But what is unclean about not giving Harry Reid everything he wants?

If Senator Reid and President Obama refuse to accept the money required to run the government, because it leaves out the money they want to run Obamacare, that is their right. But that is also their responsibility.

You cannot blame other people for not giving you everything you want. And it is a fraud to blame them when you refuse to use the money they did vote, even when it is ample to pay for everything else in the government. When Barack Obama keeps claiming that it is some new outrage for those who control the money to try to change government policy by granting or withholding money, that is simply a bald-faced lie. You can check the history of other examples of “legislation by appropriation” as it used to be called.

Whether legislation by appropriation is a good idea or a bad idea is a matter of opinion. But whether it is both legal and not unprecedented is a matter of fact.

Perhaps the biggest of the big lies is that the government will not be able to pay what it owes on the national debt, creating a danger of

default. Tax money keeps coming into the Treasury during the shutdown, and it vastly exceeds the interest that has to be paid on the national debt.

Even if the debt ceiling is not lifted, that only means that government is not allowed to run up new debt. But that does not mean that it is unable to pay the interest on existing debt.

None of this is rocket science. But unless the Republicans get their side of the story out — and articulation has never been their strong suit — the lies will win. More important, the whole country will lose.

Government Shutdown: Who is Really at Fault?

In all my years of watching the political scene, I don’t think I’ve ever seen our government in such disarray as it is now.  For the past 5 years, it has been nothing but infighting, name-calling, ridicule, and, let’s face it, Republican/Conservative bashing.  An interesting article in CNN this morning, clearly stated what I’ve been saying for most of Obama’s presidency.

We expect our presidents to be leaders of all the people, not a single party or ideology.  We want them to rise above the squabbling and keep us on track.  The harsh rhetoric that the president has been directing at Republicans suggests that he is less interested in settlement than unconditional surrender.”

Seeing this statement written by David Gergen, a senior political analyst for CNN, and a former adviser to four presidents, I feel vindicated.  Obama is not and has not been the president for all Americans.  You only have to listen to his speeches, if you can make it through an entire one, to know that.  They consist of ridiculing Republicans/Conservatives and the Tea Party.  He ridicules the Republican-lead House for not doing his bidding.  In all this ridiculing, does he put forth a “real” solution to anything?  How many times has he stated that he will not negotiate with Republicans?

If only Democrats/Liberals/Progressives would listen, I would like to ask them how they would feel if a Republican president refused to negotiate with their elected representatives.  Would they feel bullied by the president?  Would they feel that they do not have a say-so in their own country?  I think the answers are glaringly evident.

Yes, that is one red line that Obama will stand behind.  If Republicans in congress listen to their constituents and try to govern for the people and by the people, our president picks up his toys and goes home.  Or goes to the golf course.  It’s childish behavior in the extreme, and, even though the MSM has tried to protect him, he has shown the world that he is not a leader.

But, who will be blamed for the government shutdown?  Why, Republicans, of course.  The MSM, MSNBC, etc will make sure of that.  Instead of demanding that the President of the United States stop this behavior and begin working for the country as a whole, their one-sided reporting allows Obama to continue bullying the opposition.  They give Reid and Pelosi full rein to bash their Republican/Conservative peers, but what does the media report about the Republican party? — “they eat their own.”

Everyone knows Obamacare is not ready to be implemented.  Obama, himself, has unconstitutionally delayed several facets of the bill.  But, for the “masses”–that’s us, folks–this unpopular, unexplained, massive overhaul of our great healthcare system is shoved down our throats.  The polls show that about 70% of Americans do not want Obamacare.  It doesn’t matter what we want.  Obama wants it, and his minions in congress and the MSM, will see that he gets what he wants.

Does anyone really know how this bill is going to work?  Does anyone really understand?  Talk to your friends and neighbors and you’ll find that most everyone is confused.

Obama has shoved this on us without ever explaining exactly what it means to those of us who have worked hard for our entire lives to have the benefits we have.  This is a travesty perpetrated on the American people.

But, who will be blamed for the government shutdown?  Why, Republicans, of course!

To Defund or Not to Defund?

I have listened to different commentators express lamentations, derision, and accusations about the House’s decision to defund Obamacare.  It seems that no matter what the majority of the American people want, these drones continue to malign Republican/Conservatives for trying to stop a really bad piece of legislation.  In my opinion, the Progressives will do whatever it takes to push Obama’s signature legislation, Obamacare, on us.  I believe that they have to know it is a bad law–that it will destroy the exceptional healthcare we have enjoyed for decades–but that fact pales in the face of pushing Obama’s agenda.

This law, since it was passed, has been changed hundreds of times.  If you stack the pages of this legislation in one pile, it stands taller than a man.  No one had read it when it was passed…do we really think anyone has read the entire law, even now that it is scheduled to go into effect in October?  If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you…

How did our narcissistic president react to the vote to defund?  By whining that the Republicans are “messing with me.”  Really?  Doesn’t that tell his followers something?  Doesn’t that say to a clear-thinking person that Obama is only interested in his own image?  Come on, American.  My mind keeps going back to a song we sing in church; “Open the blind eyes…”

Yes, we know the Democratically controlled Senate will never go along with defunding Obamacare, yet, I stand firmly behind the brave Republicans in the House, who had the courage to listen to their constituents, and to act on their behalf.  After all, isn’t that what they are elected to do?  Way too many of our elected officials forget that fact the minute they are elected.

Here is a great blog by my good FB friend, Jack Watts.

Is Defunding Obamacare a Good Idea?

To answer this question, you need to answer another one first: What made the American healthcare system the envy of the world? Was it Socialized medicine or was it American exceptionalism? If you can accept that it is American exceptionalism, which doesn’t require much intellectual honesty, then the answer to whether or not defund Obamacare becomes far easier.

If we want to continue having the best healthcare system in the world, repudiating Obamacare is the way to do it. Not only is Obamacare unready for full implementation, it is bad policy. It has been bad policy ever since Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid forced it upon us, with the help of President Obama cutting one unethical deal after the other to garner the votes necessary to make it law.

Now, as it is about to be implemented, TV commentators and other mainstream journalists say that the vote in the House to defund Obamacare will ultimately fail and that the Republicans should never have forced the issue.

I disagree. What was their alternative? To stand by idly and allow the nation to be destroyed? Of course not. It is never wrong to do the right thing, regardless of the outcome of your actions. Voting to defund Obamacare was the right thing to do, and this was the right time to do it.

Not only will the law make us a nation of part-time workers, but it will also fund an additional 10,000 IRS agents—all of whom will have the Lois Lerner mandate to grind us into submission to the will of the executive branch of the government. Let me ask you:

  • Is this what we want?
  • Do we need more ISR agents and fewer doctors?
  • Do we want less privacy and more bureaucracy?
  • Do we want higher costs with diminished services?
  • Do we want more incompetent leadership from Obama, Pelosi, and Reid and not less?

The answer for most of us is no.

Because nationalized medicine is the Holy Grail of the Progressives, the attacks upon patriotic Americans who stand in their way will be vicious and visceral. Nevertheless, standing our ground by repudiating Obamacare is what we are called to do. Remember, it is never wrong to do the right thing at the right time and the right place. This is our time to stand up and say no to Obamacare, no to the legion of IRS miscreants this law will empower, no to the President, and no to Progressivism. Future generations will bless you for weathering the onslaught and for being resilient and strong.
