Clinton Blames Misogyny for Her Loss – Then She’s to Blame

BREAKING NEWS FROM CNN –

Hillary Clinton said Tuesday she takes personal responsibility for her 2016 election loss, but also pointed to the timing of a letter from FBI Director James Comey and Russian interference as factors.

“If the election had been on October 27, I would be your president,” she told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour at a Women for Women event in New York.

“It wasn’t a perfect campaign, there is no such thing, but I was on the way to winning until a combination of Jim Comey’s letter on October 28 and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me and got scared off,” she said. “The evidence for that intervening event is, I think, compelling, persuasive, and so we overcame a lot in the campaign.”

She also agreed that misogyny played a role in her loss.

“Yes, I do think it played a role. I think other things did as well. Every day that goes by, we find out more about the unprecedented inference, including from a foreign power whose leader is not a member of my fan club,” Clinton said, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin. “It is real, it is very much a part of the landscape, political and socially and economically.”

Clinton also pointed out multiple times she won the popular vote, earning more votes than President Trump, despite losing the Electoral College and hence the White House.

This is a breaking news notice that CNN sent out this afternoon. Not much new – she took blame for her loss. Well… sort of. She’s to blame, but not really. But only for one part, but not on a Tuesday. Seriously, she’s to blame unless you consider fifteen other potential factors that she is convinced brought about her loss.

Well here’s my perspective on her loss and its really easy.

1 – She was and is a flawed candidate and there are so many flaws it would take days to list all the reasons she’s flawed.

2 – She was far too convinced she was going to win and so she cut way too many corners and didn’t or wouldn’t listen to strategists who likely didn’t have the nerve to give her real advise on what she should’ve done because they knew she wouldn’t listen anyway.

3 – Any candidate who thinks they are entitled to be home every night when they should be on the campaign trail have no business running for ANY political office because they don’t care about anyone but themselves.

4 – With the number of criminal questions hanging over her head – thinking she has any right to run for any public office is a delusion for Hillary Clinton. That should apply for anyone in the Clinton family.

5 – Hillary Clinton has gotten away with crimes that pretty much anyone else in this country would be in prison for, she should understand that and fade away. At some point, her luck or her influence is going to run out – or at least law abiding people in this country who love our country and the Constitution can hope it will end at some point and they will pay for their numerous crimes, along with their co-conspirators.

6 There are many many more points, but let’s just go back to her repeated claims about misogyny being to blame for her loss. The only people I remember bringing up her gender in the campaign as a focus, were her, her campaign and the left. They used the fact she’s a woman – over and over and over as a ploy in her campaign.

So if her gender was a problem in her campaign – it seems to me, her and her campaign strategy (if she had one) are to blame.

What do you think?

Breaking News – Tom Perez Elected New DNC Chair

The Democrats almost elected Ellison as the new chair for the DNC – maybe about haf of them are figuring out some of the steps they need to take and ones they shouldn’t to move forward… or maybe not. Time will tell.

CNN Breaking News – The Democratic National Committee elected Tom Perez as its new chairman Saturday, voting for the former labor secretary over Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison in a 235-200 vote.

Perez, who drew support from backers of Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama, argued that the party needs to focus on voting access and down-ballot battles.

Ellison’s allies, who were aligned with Sen. Bernie Sanders’ progressive wing, pitched him as the only candidate who could bridge the party’s divisions.

Perez’s victory came after the other candidates dropped out of the race. They include South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Idaho Democratic Party Executive Director Sally Boynton Brown, television analyst Jehmu Greene, Air Force veteran Sam Ronan and attorney Peter Peckarsky. –

Sharing a Rant Over the Current Political Climate

I’m sharing this post from a friend of mine – we’ll let her be known as “A Patriot Grandmother”.

To tell you a little about her… The writer is a wife, mother, grandmother, author and political observer.

~*~

Be warned. I’m about to go on a rant. Probably a long rant. So, you might just want to keep scrolling. Nothing to see here. Nothing new anyway. Same old stuff. Same old destructive garbage that’s been dividing the American people and destroying our trust in our country and one another. Exactly what is that garbage? I think it’s hatred, agendas and flat-out lies. I think we, as a society, are losing the willingness to try to understand other points of view much less empathize with them. And the election of Donald Trump seems to have shown a spotlight on that inability.

I did not vote for Barack Obama. And yet for eight years I fully believed that he was my President and I hoped that he would make decisions that were in the best interest of the country, not just the Democratic Party or his own political career. One can always hope, right? I have read what many of you have written about your belief that the Obama family was delightful to have in the White House and without scandal. I actually agree with some of that. The Obama daughters seem to be delightful, articulate, accomplished young women. As a family, they did appear to be without scandal personally. Professionally and politically, however, the Obama Administration was far from scandal free. I have no intention of citing those scandals here. I simply want to do a little comparing and contrasting.

While Barack Obama was in office the Democrats in the House, Senate and Media repeatedly told the American people that Republicans were obstructionists if they didn’t go along with and vote for every policy and bill put forth by the Democrats. If Republicans, Conservatives or your average Joe or Josephine disagreed with an Obama policy they were called hate-mongering, knuckle-dragging racists. While George W. Bush was President they considered it patriotic to disagree with the President and his Administration. Disagreement with Obama however, was punishable by severe name-calling and shunning. Enter Donald Trump. And the Left has changed the narrative, again. It’s cool, once more, to “resist”, to stand up to the evil that has taken over our government. Well, I’m resisting your resistance and waving the BS Flag.

Donald Trump calls the left-leaning-media to task, accuses them of being partisan, having an agenda, downplaying stories that put the Right in a good light and spotlighting the ones that make the Left look righteous. Hmmm? I’ve heard all that before, except it was Obama saying the exact same things about the right-leaning-media. He wanted Fox News removed from the White House Press Corps. For months and years, he refused to call on any right-leaning media representatives in his press conferences. He ignored them and their questions and seldom agreed to be interviewed by any of their news people or pundits. He said Fox News was not a legitimate news organization and that they were destructive to the growth of the country. You know what I think is really destructive to the growth of our country? Left and right leaning media promoting their agendas.

Another example. Kellyann Conway and her use of the word massacre. How many times a day can the Left Wing Media replay that video? Clearly often enough to make everyone on the planet believe that Kellyanne Conway is a lying sack of blithering incompetence. “She should know better. What an idiot.” Okay. Shouldn’t our President know how many states we have? Simple question with a straightforward answer. Go to YouTube and type in “President Obama says we have 57 states.” Huh? Guess I must have slept through seven of them. Blithering incompetent or exhausted and misspoke? The difference? The Left Leaning Media didn’t shove that video down our throats by the hour. Their guy got a pass. They pick and choose who they promote and who the skewer. I happen to believe that both were exhausted and had a word-slip. Goodness knows I slip up and I understand that other people do as well.

Now, let’s make a distinction between a word-slip and a straight up lie. Fifty, not fifty-seven = word-slip. Massacre, not terrorists = word-slip. “I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.” Straight up lie. Never happened. None of it. How about “We’ve seen rage and violence directed at our embassies because of an awful Internet video.” Word- slip or straight up lie? You decide.

And then Hollywood jumps on the “Resistance Bandwagon” and Meryl Streep goes on her well-publicized tirade. “What bravery.” “What courage.” “Truth to power.” I’m scratching my head saying, “What bravery?” “What courage?” “Truth to power?” Meryl Streep IS the power in Hollywood and she was speaking to a group of predominantly like-minded people. What courage did that take? For future reference, Meryl. Please just learn to say, “Thank you” graciously.

Compare and contrast. So, here’s my example of truth to power. Her name is Patricia Smith. Who is she? She is Sean Smith’s mother. Sean Smith was murdered in Benghazi. Patricia Smith had no money, no power, no influence, no connections, no authority, no platform. She had only her voice and her convictions. And she took on the Secretary of State, the Obama Administration and the Clinton Machine. Why? Because she wanted the truth about what happened to Sean. She wanted justice for her son. She didn’t want what happened to her child to happen to anyone else’s. So, she stood up. She spoke. She demanded answers. And she was vilified by the Left for it. But she didn’t let that stop her. Courage. Bravery. Truth to power.

I happen to believe in our Constitution and in our system of checks and balances. That system gives the authority to write law and change law to the Legislative Branch of government. That means the Congress and Senate should be responsible for enacting new laws. Our system also gives the President (the Executive Branch) the authority to, from time to time, write laws using Executive Orders or Executive Memorandums. It does not, however give that authority to the Judicial Branch. That means judges are responsible for UPHOLDING the law, not changing it. President Trump starts issuing Executive Orders and the Left goes crazy. I’ve read several posts questioning whether or not the current President understands the Constitution and who has the authority to write law. I wondered the same thing during President Obama’s two terms in office. Look at the number of Executive Orders and Memorandums that he wrote. Look at the number George W. Bush wrote. And check out Bill Clinton’s whopping numbers. The precedent is set, people. If you don’t want someone from the other team taking the law into his own hands, then you can’t let your guy do it either. No one gets to have it both ways.

And while we’re on the subject of who has the authority to do what…where on earth, or in the Constitution, did Michelle Obama get the authority to change dietary policy in our public schools and our military? Her involvement with nutrition actually cost the taxpayers money! Schools had to meet her dietary guidelines. Many complained that it was costing them more, they were throwing away too much of it and had hungry kids going home at the end of the day. For some of those children school was the primary source of their daily meals.

Michelle’s food initiative also changed the “chow” in the military “chow halls”. I attended a Basic Training graduation in 2010 right after the changes were implemented and had the chance to talk to some of the graduates. Let’s just say that many of them were not happy campers. Basic Training is grueling mind and body training. Imagine yourself doing hours of classwork, sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups, obstacle courses and forced marches. Every day for roughly ten weeks. Now imagine not being fed enough to have the strength and stamina to do that. I heard more than one graduate say, “The Chow Hall sucks. Thanks, Mrs. Obama.” The First Lady. A powerful role model and spokesperson, but NOT an elected or appointed official. So where did she get the authority to change policy? You might want to hope that this doesn’t set another precedent because you’re not going to like it when the other side does it.

Speaking of not liking it… when the Right didn’t like President Obama’s policies, they protested them. There were protests all over the country that were completely nonviolent and without profanity or demonizing of the Left. There was one in Washington DC that close to a million people attended. The media and President Obama largely ignored those protests. Why? Maybe so they could focus on the handful of protestors who truly were violent racists. Then they painted everyone who disagreed with the President with the same brush. Now, the Left disagrees with President Trump. Some of the protests are nonviolent and make their points admirably. Many, however, are straight-up riots. There is an attitude of entitled lawlessness that has taken over this country. Once more, is a precedent being set? My way or you can watch the place burn down around you?

Now let’s talk about free speech for a minute. Safe zones so you don’t have to hear things you don’t want to hear, shouting down guest speakers you don’t agree with, name-calling and demonizing those who voice politically incorrect ideas and opinions. Seriously? Do you not see that all those behaviors are destroying free speech? And guess what? We have Freedom OF Speech, not Freedom FROM Speech. That means that I can speak from the Left or the Right, about religion or atheism. I can talk about Pollyanna or the devil. I can be kind or offensive. If you do not like what I have to say, you have the right to walk away. You do NOT have the right to stop me from saying it. I hear many people talking about their fear of losing their right to free speech. Everyone in this country has been losing that right for years. But no one cared, as long as they agreed with what people were being told not to say. If we want the right to speak freely, we must give the right to speak freely. Even if we find it offensive.

I’ve seen several posts recently offering ideas for confronting bullies, particularly those bullying Muslims. Bullying of any sort is unacceptable. That means Muslims, Jews, Christians, Atheists, Agnostics, Buddhists, children, teenagers, adults, Democrats, Republicans, Hillary Supporters, Trump Supporters, Liberals or Conservatives, Vegans and Meat Eaters! I’ve seen zero videos of Muslims being bullied since Donald Trump’s election but I’ve seen several of Trump supporters being yelled at, harassed, spit on and even beaten. Some of the antibullying suggestions will work very well in those situations.

Some of them might even be applicable to the bullying I’ve seen on FB the last couple of years. Check your Newsfeed. Look at the last time someone turned their back on their child at the zoo for just a moment and that child fell…into a gorilla cage or a pond. The vile, hateful comments are beyond belief. On the worst days of people’s lives, the scars they are left with are not just the memory of what they did do, didn’t do or could have done. Now, it’s also the memory of the judgmental cyber hatred that rained down on them while they went through it. We are becoming a nation of faceless bullies, brave enough only to be nasty from behind a computer keyboard. Wake up, people! The Left says “Love Trumps Hate”. But all I see is hate. And it’s not trumping anything.

Rant over.

Indiana Primary Field Guide

It’s all coming down to the Hoosier State.

Indiana Republicans haven’t seen their state’s primary matter so much in 40 years. That’s because it’s been that long since the GOP nominating process has gone on this long.

The last time the GOP presidential hopefuls rumbled into the Hoosier State was 1976, when former California Gov. Ronald Reagan was giving chase to President Gerald Ford.

Reagan pulled off a narrow victory and, along with wins in Texas, Georgia and Nebraska, reclaimed momentum after back-to-back losses in April.

Reagan acolyte Sen. Ted Cruz certainly hopes for a similar storyline this year against frontrunner Donald Trump. But Cruz has some big problems with his preferred narrative. He has 46 percent of the delegates he needs to win, mathematically eliminating him from an outright victory.

Trump, meanwhile, is 81 percent of the way home and can only be denied in a contested convention that he promises would be an even uglier brawl than the race so far.

Indiana polls say Cruz is facing the elimination round of his run. Trump leads by 11 points in the Real Clear Politics average of polls for the state. Trump and his growing number of admirers in the party establishment are looking for Indiana to seal Cruz’s fate.

But reason an Indiana loss would be an extinction event for Cruz’s candidacy is that the state stacks up so well for him on paper. Its voters are very conservative, socially and fiscally. He was once seen as the favorite. Now, Republicans appear to have tired of their intractable, ugly nominating process, and the momentum is for Trump, or at least for surcease.

If Cruz wins in Indiana, those conservatives who are backing his candidacy more out of a desire to block Trump than to pick Cruz will begin to fall away in larger numbers. Their focus will shift quickly from the Republican nominating process to the possibility of a third party; perhaps the Libertarians, perhaps something new.

Cruz could, and probably would, vow to fight on in a bid to soak up as many delegates as possible in the final month of the race. But that would just make him a Republican Bernie Sanders – a man out of the running but looking to increase his bid price from the party and its presumptive nominee.

But Cruz could substantially right his listing vessel today with a comeback win. And if you get to know the people and places of Indiana, you’ll see why. Come with us for a tour of the 19th state.

By the numbers…
–57 total delegates
–30 statewide, 27 by congressional district
–Winner-take-all at state and district levels
–Open primary
–635,589 total ballots cast in 2012
–Last polls close at 7 p.m. ET

WITH YOUR SECOND CUP OF COFFEE…
Every basketball fan knows Indiana is the Hoosier State. There’s even a movie about it. But what many don’t know, including Hoosier fans, is where the word originally came from. The Indiana Historical Society casts some light on the mystery: “One of the earliest known uses of the term is found in an 1827 letter that states, ‘There is a yankee trick for you – done up by a Hoosier.’ …In 1831, Gen. John Tipton received a proposal from a businessman offering to name his boat the ‘Indiana Hoosier’ if Tipton would give him business in the area…The word ‘Hoosier’ was widely used by the 1830s. Around this time, John Finley of Richmond wrote a poem called The Hoosier’s Nest, which was widely read. He wrote the word as ‘hoosher’ and did not explain its meaning, which leads historians to believe that Finley felt his readers would already know and understand the word.”

NORTHWEST: BUCKLE OF THE RUST BELT
The outcome of this region is not in doubt: Trump, Trump and more Trump. The question is how many voters turn out.

Gary has definitely seen better days. The History Channel series about life after the extinction of the human race was partly filmed here.

Think of this like a smaller version of Detroit, in Wayne County, Mich. Trump won there by 13 points and can be expected to do even better here. Despite the whole casino thing

Lake County, which is home to Gary, is the second-most populous county in the state but provided only 3 percent of the total vote in 2012’s Republican primary. If Trump is going to deliver an Indiana knockout tonight he will do so in part by beefing up that number with lots of crossover Democrats and independent votes in the state’s open primary.

Lake County
–Population: 490,228
–Median household income: $49,617
–Race: Caucasian, 71 percent; black, 25 percent
–Adults with bachelor’s degrees: 20 percent
–2012 election: Obama 65 percent
–Residents 65 or older: 15 percent
–After native son Michael Jackson died in 2009, his father, Joe, and the local mayor teamed up to raise money for a museum dedicated to the pop star. Despite raising funds, no development has taken place yet.

NORTHEAST: GIDDY UP VALUES VOTERS
The large Amish communities in the northeastern quarter of Indiana are not the only socially conservative folks there.

Even in 2012, when he had already dropped out of the race, Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum still carded 20 percent of the vote or more in some of the counties in this portion of the state.

The population center of the region is Ft. Wayne in Allen County, which produced the third-largest number of GOP primary votes four years ago, behind only two metro Indianapolis counties.

If Cruz has a chance at an upset it will begin with massive support and massive turnout in this corner of the state.

Allen County
–Population: 368,450
–Median household income: $49,124
–Race: Caucasian, 81 percent; black, 12 percent
–Adults with bachelor’s degrees: 27 percent
–2012 election: Romney 57 percent
–Residents 65 or older: 13 percent
–What some say was first ever professional baseball game was played on May 4, 1871 in Fort Wayne. The Cleveland Forest Citys took on Fort Wayne’s Kekiongas, but the match was rained out at the top of the ninth inning with the home team up by two.

INDIANAPOLIS: START YOUR ENGINES
As we have seen with most major cities in these primaries, they are usually more Democratic than the states as a whole. But liberal-leaning or not, Marion County is the most populous in the state and will be the largest trove of votes. Four years ago, 12 percent of all votes came out of Marion.

That’s good news for Trump, who has thrived in Democratic strongholds, especially in open primaries.

But, unlike other cities where the suburbs mostly fall in collar counties, Marion is an urban/suburban split. There are plenty of higher income households that might deliver for Cruz or even some vestigial vote for Ohio Gov. John Kasich. That’s the same story in Hamilton County immediately to the north.

Expect nearly one in five votes to come from Marion and Hamilton combined.

Looking south to the conservative confines of Johnson County, things might be a bit different. This ought to be Trump’s best showing in the metro area.

Marion County
–Population: 934,243
–Median household income: $42,378
–Race: Caucasian, 66 percent; black, 28 percent
–Adults with bachelor’s degrees: 28 percent
–2012 election: Obama 60 percent
–Residents 65 or older: 11 percent
–The first event held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway was a helium-filled balloon competition in 1909.

SOUTH: SWEET APPALACHIA
The only problem Trump has with the southern part of Indiana is that there isn’t more of it. As we saw in the neighboring region of Illinois, this is going to be a Trump blowout region.

Though geographically large, it’s mostly rural and home to just 20 percent or so of the state’s population. But what it lacks in volume it makes up for in intensity. Places like Jasper in Dubois County, ought to deliver big for Trump as will other counties between the Wabash and Ohio rivers.

Dubois County
–Population: 42,461
–Median household income: $54,186
–Race: Caucasian, 98 percent; black, 1 percent
–Adults with bachelor’s degrees: 18 percent
–2012 election: Romney 63 percent
–Residents 65 or older: 16 percent
–Jasper, located here, is considered the “Wood Capital of the World” with numerous furniture companies like Kimball International and Masterbrand Cabinets based here.

BELLWETHER
For today’s contest the bellwether to watch is Harrison County, just over the Ohio River from Louisville, Ky. Since 2000, this county has picked the GOP winner in every primary cycle within a fraction of the final statewide total.

Harrison County
–Population: 39,578
–Median household income: $53,483
–Race: Caucasian, 98 percent; black, 1 percent
–Adults with bachelor’s degrees: 16 percent
–2012 election: Romney 60 percent
–Residents 65 or older: 16 percent
–Home to vast underground caves where Daniel Boone and Squire Boone hid from Indians in the late 18th century. Squire Boone would later return and set up a homestead here.

[GOP delegate count: Trump 996; Cruz 565; Kasich 153 (1,237 needed to win)]

NO ONE CALLED ‘SHOTGUN’
True to his humble Indiana roots, native son President Benjamin Harrison wanted to be a fair leader to the nation’s newest states. After years of trying to establish statehood for the Dakota Territories, with much corruption and headache, Harrison didn’t want any further problems. Bismarck Tribune: “By 1884, Dakota had gone through a number of corrupt governors. This increased the demand for statehood. There was now a strong movement to have the territory divided with North Dakota and South Dakota coming into the union as separate states.  There also was an effort in southern Dakota Territory to get South Dakota admitted as a state and northern Dakota declared a territory…On Nov.2, President Benjamin Harrison signed the proclamation making North Dakota and South Dakota as the two newest states.  Since Harrison blindly signed the documents, we have no idea which one he signed first.”

Missing Discussion in Hillary Email Scandal

Throughout the coverage of the Hillary e-mail scandal – I’ve been waiting and waiting for any of the “talking heads” to mention Obama’s battle to keep his Blackberry when he came into office. Throughout the months and months of discussions – nothing but crickets chirping and the same talking points.

In my opinion – Hillary and Bill Clinton are so completely out of touch with daily life for anyone else. There are so many examples that it could take all day to share them – but a couple of my “favorites” included the “dead broke” comment and then mentions having to pay for their houses. Excuse me – multiple houses?? You aren’t dead broke because you can’t afford multiple houses. And another “favorite” was mentioned this morning where she “admitted” that using her own server was a mistake – but her reasoning is because it is inconveniencing her and her friends. Seriously??? No mention of the millions of dollars being spent by the taxpayers to dig through her lies. The government employees being tied up to deal with this and determine what really happened, and on and on.

But here’s my point and no one is talking about it –

Anyone who was watching what was happening when Obama was first sworn into office, knows there was a lot of hoopla about him keeping his Blackberry. There was a lot of media coverage – by all outlets – about what would have to be done to his phone to make it “safe” for him to use. Okay – so the Secretary of State should be required to have the same type of security on her phone, e-mail and more. I realize Hillary is very insulated from reality and in her own little world – but someone among her advisors and staff had to know about the Obama battle to keep his phone. So, why didn’t Hillary and her staff need to go through the same process?

Here’s the bottom line — Hillary and Bill feel they are above the law. Hillary is willing to do or say anything to anyone to get what she wants, she feels entitled to the presidency and the list goes on and on. She has shown a disregard for the laws of the country, truth and honesty seem to just get in her way and she’s shown a disregard for the security of the United States. In what alternate universe other than “Clinton World” – how does that kind of person have any chance to become the next president? Haven’t we had more than enough of people who are impressed with their “celebrity” and who have used their office to line their pockets and build up their personal rolodex?

I don’t know about you – but I’ve certainly had more than enough.

Article from 2009 about Obama’s Blackberry –

For more than two months, Mr. Obama has been waging a vigorous battle with his handlers to keep his BlackBerry, which like millions of other Americans he has relied upon for years to stay connected with friends and advisers. (And, of course, to get Chicago White Sox scores.)

He won the fight, aides disclosed Thursday, but the privilege of becoming the nation’s first e-mailing president comes with a specific set of rules.

“The president has a BlackBerry through a compromise that allows him to stay in touch with senior staff and a small group of personal friends,” said Robert Gibbs, his spokesman, “in a way that use will be limited and that the security is enhanced to ensure his ability to communicate.”

Its Not Just About the “Confederate” Flag

I just read a transcript of part of Rush Limbaugh’s show earlier – he made a lot of the same points I’ve been saying to friends all day. This is not about the flag – which by the way was a battle flag NOT any one of the flags for the Confederacy. Its about piling shame on a GOP stronghold – otherwise known as the south. Southerns and especially white redneck Southerns can’t be allowed to be proud of anything. Guilt them into staying home in 2016 or at least voting for whoever gets the Democratic nomination for president. I mean look how good that strategy worked for Obama – twice.  Its also a major distraction — emails are coming out that make Hillary and Obama look bad, time to stir people up and distract them from hearing the facts.

But I have another point – if the flag bothers people so much, then we also need to “ban” any use of the N word. By ANYONE. Walmart, Ebay, Amazon, etc should all announce tomorrow that they have realized that selling rap music is offensive because of the use of the N word and its coming off the shelves. No way that’s going to happen – but there is nothing redeeming about the N word, so let’s just eliminate it — I’m not for censoring music or print etc, but the left has decided that no one is allowed to buy a battle flag from the Confederacy, so let’s take a look at something that is truly offensive to the vast majority of people and do something about that.

I also heard on the news that people are already calling for Confederate soldier statues to be removed – so the caller was right on target too. Every group in this country can be proud of their heritage – good or bad – except Republicans and especially Southern Republicans. They don’t vote for liberals – so might as well punish them again. Funny thing is that I don’t know anyone that is alive in the south that has had slaves in their lifetime, so why are we all being punished for the “sins of the grandfathers”.

Here is the transcript from Rush – for the people who haven’t seen or heard it yet —

I’m Not Arguing to Keep It, But This Is Not Really About the Confederate Flag in South Carolina

June 23, 2015

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Okay, look, look, look, in the first place, it’s not the Confederate flag. I know it’s a mere technicality, but I’m the mayor of Realville. Facts matter to me. We’re not talking about the Confederate flag. The flag that’s got everybody exercised here is actually the battle flag of the army of northern Virginia. That’s what everybody’s talking about here. They’re just calling it the Confederate flag. Anyway, it’s not even about the flag. All of this is not even about the flag.Greetings, my friends, great to have you here. Rush Limbaugh back at it. Another day of broadcast excellence from the EIB Southern Command, but, as always, as long as I’m here, it doesn’t matter where “here” is. Telephone number is 800-282-2882. The e-mail address, ElRushbo@eibnet.com.

Here we go, “South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley called for the removal of the Confederate flag.” And, again, we’re actually talking about the battle flag of the army of northern Virginia, but it’s the last time I’m gonna mention it. For all intents and purposes it is the Confederate flag. “Nikki Haley called for the removal of the Confederate flag from the grounds of the state Capitol Monday, less than a week after” Dylann what’s his name shot up the African-American church. “Support for the flag to come down from leaders around the state and around the country has been steadily growing in the wake of the devastating attack.”

As predicted, by the way, Nikki Haley is not being credited for her action in taking down the flag. The New Republic and other left-wing organisms are saying she didn’t do it soon enough. Some are saying she doesn’t really mean it. Kind of like when the Koch brothers give a hospital in New York a hundred million. They don’t really mean it, the left says, they’re just trying to cover their hatred and bigotry by giving money to people so people will not discover who they really are.

Well, here they’re saying that Nikki Haley doesn’t really mean it, she’s just bowing to political pressure and trying to gain points, but she doesn’t really mean it. She is getting credit from other places. James Clyburn thinks that this means that Nikki Haley has now crossed the Rubicon and is down for the struggle. The fact of all of this is that it’s really not about the flag. The flag did not pull the trigger and Dylann Roof wasn’t even wearing this flag. I’m not arguing to keep it. That’s not the point. We’re so beyond that. That’s not the point. The point is as with everything else the left does, what they tell you they’re irritated about is not where it ends.

This effort to have the battle flag of northern Virginia removed is really an attempt to segregate and isolate the entire South and to sort of Alinsky it. You know, the Rules for Radicals, you seek the target, you isolate it, you attack it, humiliate it. This flag represents what the left believes is the last remaining Republican electoral stronghold in terms of presidential politics, and that would be the South. So this is an effort going far beyond the Confederate flag or the battle flag of the army of northern Virginia.

This flag represents to the left a symbol of everything that’s wrong with not just South Carolina, but North Carolina, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, you name it. And that’s what the objective here really is. And that’s why when Republicans make these efforts to appease, to please, and even if they think they’re doing the right thing, it never is enough, and it’s never genuine, and it’s never accepted, or very rarely is it accepted. Very rarely do the Republicans seeking to gain political points with their opponents or their enemies actually pull that off by acceding to their demands.

So just keep a sharp eye on this because you’ll see, even after the flag comes down, it’s not gonna be the end of this. After the flag comes down, after the flag is removed, you’re gonna continue to hear what it stands for, what it stood for, how rotten it is and how even though it’s gone, you can bet they will report that Southerners all across this country in heart and in mind and even geographically will be displaying the flag in their homes and on their cars with bumper stickers and so forth. Just keep a sharp eye. ‘Cause I’m telling you the flag is a symbol and it’s symbol to the left, and it represents a far more wide reaching objective than just getting the flag removed from public view.

You got Walmart saying: We’re not gonna sell any flag, Confederate flag merchandise anymore. We’re not gonna sell anything that offends anybody. Okay. Well, that’s an open invitation to the left to go out and claim that anything that they don’t like in Walmart that represents Republicanism, conservatism could offend them. You wait, folks. I mean, we’ve been trending in this direction for years now. This is really nothing now. And don’t forget, this is all going to be obscured and forgotten by Thursday. Isn’t that when the next wave of Supreme Court decisions comes down?

Yeah, Thursday and Friday. I want to warn you to be prepared for that, I mean, experience guided by intelligence.

RUSH: I was asking some people today, Cornel West is out there saying… I can’t say the word. I’ve been asking people what in the heck it means. Cornel West is out there saying that Obama has been the N-word-ized. The N-word-ized. And I said, “What in the world does that mean?” And Cornel West says what it means is that Obama has accepted the idea of white supremacy, and he is willing to play the role of being African-American in secondary status. That’s what Cornel West means when he says that Obama has been N-word-ized.

Other people have an entirely different definition of it. But whatever it means, it certainly isn’t good to have the word being tossed around in everyday conversation on cable TV. I mean, here’s Cornel West throwing the word around left and right and he’s perfectly permitted to use it because he is African-American. And there’s Obama throwing the word around and getting credit for throwing the word around. He can get away with it because of course he is the president, and he’s so brilliant and he’s so much smarter than all of us that he is brilliantly using the word to illustrate the dangers inherent with the other people in our culture who do use it. It’s just the decline, the coarsening of things happening.

RUSH: Okay. Look at me. I have a prediction. Look at me. I have a prediction. I just said it’s not gonna stop with the Confederate flag because it’s not about the Confederate flag. It is about destroying the South as a political force. It’s about isolating, targeting, and identifying the South as Dylann Roof. Not Charleston, South Carolina, the South. That’s what the leftists’ effort on the Confederate flag are. Do not doubt me, folks.

And I’ll make another prediction to you. The next flag that will come under assault, and it will not be long, is the American flag. Do not look at me that way. It makes perfect sense. If you take a look at the timeline of progressive events, their speed and rapidity with which the left is conducting this assault on all of these American traditions and institutions, if you don’t think the American flag’s in their crosshairs down the road, you had better stop and reconsider.

The American flag is what? It’s the symbol of America. The left what? Doesn’t like this country very much and never has and it’s getting angrier and angrier about it seemingly every day. The American flag stands for the United States of America and, as such, everything that’s wrong with it. And you wait. It isn’t gonna be long before the American flag is gonna cause chills, fear, scary thoughts, it’s gonna make me nervous, the American flag, when I see the American flag, it’s a symbol of hate.

You wait, folks. You wait. And then what are the Republicans gonna do? We’ll be the first among them to say yep, we need a redesign. Yep, we need to get into the twenty first. Just saying. I’m just saying. Hang in there, be tough.

RUSH: Can you just hear it now? I can hear it now. “The United States flag has flown over slavery and symbolized racism, discrimination, bigotry, homophobia for hundreds of years; the Confederate flag flew only four years, and we’re getting rid of the Confederate flag.” Mark my words. Do you remember this, ladies and gentlemen, from July 20th, 2011, about four years ago? “Shock Study…” This is taken right from the pages of my website. “US Flag Only Boosts GOP.” It’s Paul Bedard writing.

“Just a brief exposure to an image of the American flag shifts voters, even Democrats, to Republican beliefs, attitudes and voting behavior even though most don’t believe it will impact their politics, according to a new two-year study just published in the scholarly Psychological Science. What’s more, according to three authors from the University Chicago, Cornell University and Hebrew University, the impact had staying power.”

Now, listen. This is absurd, but listen to this. “‘A single exposure to an American flag resulted in a significant increase in participants’ Republican voting intentions, voting behavior, political beliefs, and implicit and explicit attitudes, with some effects lasting 8 months,’ the study found.” Really? So you have your average, ordinary low-information voter walking around just trying to find the latest on TMZ and accidentally spots an American flag. You know what happens?

All of a sudden that low-information voter becomes a Republican, and it lasts for eight months. One glance at the American flag and that low-information voter abandons TMZ, immediately becomes a Republican voter, and starts exhibiting similar behavior; starts espousing Republican political beliefs and attitudes. Some of these effects last eight months. That’s actually from the study that was done in Psychological Science, some scholarly, quarterly, annual, whatever the heck it is publication.

Back to the study. “‘These results constitute the first evidence that nonconscious priming effects from exposure to a national flag can bias the citizenry toward one political party and can have considerable durability.'” Mr. Bedard writes, “Theirs is the first study to look at the political impact on Americans who have seen an American flag, and it seems to back up another recent Harvard University professor’s study that found that kids who attended a July 4th parade ended up leaning Republican when they grew up.”

You remember that one, too. As Mr. Bedard wrote here back in 2011, this is “also sure to prompt GOP presidential candidates to add more US flags at their events and speeches.” (laughing) Now, you may be laughing at this, and you may be scoffing at this. “Oh, this is nothing.” No, no, no, folks. A bunch of leftists did this, and I’m here to tell you they believe these results. They believe the American flag has mystical powers to turn people away from the Democrat Party. That’s what they’ll see here.

It’s not so much that it makes people vote Republican although the survey results say so. The way it’ll be internalized and expressed is, “My God, that flag makes them leave us! We own the TMZ. That flag… Somebody spots the American flag and they vote Republican! They’ll look at this as the flag results in them losing support,” and they’ll believe this. This is… (laughing) And then the bit about the Fourth of July parade: Kids who attend a Fourth of July parade end up leaning Republican when they grow up.

What’s the meaning there? Well, the Fourth of July parade’s Independence Day. That is uber-patriotism, and uber-patriotism is showing Dracula the cross. So I’m just here to tell you — I’m here to warn you — I’m not gonna make a flat-out, time-sensitive prediction, but I am gonna tell you that the day will come when what’s happening to the Confederate flag or the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia is going to happen to the American flag.

The seeds have been planted four years ago. I’m holding the data right here my formerly nicotine-stained fingers. It is gonna happen. We are trending that way. And you know as well as I do that part and parcel of being a socialist or a leftist is animosity to one degree or another for the United States in general, and then it intensifies once you get specific about aspects of the United States they find objectionable.

RUSH: One quick sound bite going back to the flag business. See, that’s another example. It was four years ago that we had these two studies that showed just one look at the American flag could turn you into a Republican for eight months. That didn’t get reported in very many places. But it was real, and it ends up being taught, and it affects curriculum, it affects the way young kids think.

If you’ve got a bunch of lunatic professors and they see a survey that they believe that just one glance at an American flag can turn somebody into a Republican thinking individual for maybe eight months, what are you gonna do when you get that person in your class? You’re gonna start denigrating that flag. You’re gonna counter it. You’re gonna do everything you can if you’re a leftist to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Then the companion story was that people that go to Fourth of July parades end up being far more patriotic and love America far more and they tend to vote Republican. Have you noticed the effort, community after community, to eliminate fireworks on the Fourth of July, to eliminate big parades, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, have you noticed this movement here? There’s a reason they believe these surveys. Let’s go back even farther. Let’s go back to 2004, Howard Dean. This is a montage when he was running for the president in 2004.

DEAN 2004 MONTAGE: We are taking our country back piece by piece from the Rush Limbaughs. You have the power to take back our country so that the flag no longer represents solely Rush Limbaugh. You have the power to take back our country so that the flag never again is the sole property of Rush Limbaugh. You have the power to take back our country so that the flag of the United States is no longer the sole property of Rush Limbaugh. This country does not belong to Rush Limbaugh. Move over. I want my country back again, because the flag of this country does not belong to Rush Limbaugh. You have the power to take back the flag so it does no longer belong solely to Rush Limbaugh. (scream)

RUSH: Howard 2004, montage, obviously they had focus group data showing that I was a great person to mention to get up liberal hate, but that’s 11 years ago, folks. This is not new.

RUSH: John in Columbus, Georgia, I’m glad you waited. Welcome, sir, to the EIB Network. Hi.

CALLER: Good afternoon, Rush. Thank you. I want to digress a little bit, go back to the Confederate flag issue if you’d let me.

RUSH: Sure.

CALLER: I wouldn’t be surprised if we went back and retest this subject saying in a couple months that a floodgate has been opened. We’re gonna see, well, in fact I’ve already seen it. I was cruising through the Internet, there’s calls in Baltimore County that a Robert E. Lee Park be renamed, a bust of Nathan Bedford Forrest removed from the Senate chambers in Tennessee. I just wanted to touch on that. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see a call for all Confederate memorials of any Southern community to be torn down, any highway that bears Jeb Stuart or Lee Highway, anything like that to be renamed, just basically a full-court press put on eradication of anything resembling the old South.

RUSH: Yeah, okay, why do you think that’ll happen?

CALLER: Well, it’s starting, and I think, well, from firsthand experience I know that here in Columbus we’ve been having an ongoing battle with the NAALCP. They want to tear down our Confederate war memorial and erect a 12-foot statue of Martin Luther King in its place, and, you know, the sons — excuse me — the daughters of the confederacy has been disbanded for years, but citizens in our community have stepped forward and said, “No, we will take care of this monument.” Said, “No, we want to tear down the monument.” So just from personal experience, I think the floodgates have been opened and —

RUSH: Yeah, but —

CALLER: — green light.

RUSH: Aside from the obvious reasons, I mean, why do you think that this massive push is going to occur?

CALLER: Well, I hate to say this, but I think those of us of the same kind of background are not gonna step forward and say, “No, this is ridiculous, stop,” and we’re just gonna roll over and let it happen for political expediency.

RUSH: That probably will happen. I don’t think there’s any question. Will Sheila Jackson Lee have to change her name? I mean, if you’re gonna obliterate Robert E. Lee, would Sheila Jackson Lee maybe have to change her name? I mean, there’s a lot of things the left needs to think about this. But, by the way, I’ve prognosticated earlier on the program that the battle flag of northern Virginia is that which is what the flag on dispute is. I know, I know, we’ll call it the Confederate flag for sake of ease of communication here, but the real objective here, I think, is the American flag. The American flag has flown over a slave nation much longer than the Confederate flag did, folks. The American flag has flown over all kinds of atrocities.

You wait. But I think this Confederate flag business is about much more than the Confederate flag. This is about an all-out assault on what the left thinks is a last remaining enclave of solid Republican voters, and that is the South. It’s an attempt to dispirit and basically divide. So I think your prediction that all things related to the Civil War and the South eventually are gonna come under assault may have a point.

RUSH: The governor of Virginia is The Punk, Terry McAuliffe, former campaign head honcho Clinton-Gore.  He’s now the governor of Virginia and he’s just announced that the state of the Virginia is gonna phase out car license plates featuring the Confederate battle flag.  “The state will no longer allow specialty license plates for the sons of Confederate veterans groups that feature the flag.”  So you see, this is going to encompass the entire South.  Dylann Roof didn’t do anything in Virginia.  Did he?  No.

What Americans Can Do When They Are United

Many people have commented about how divisive this administration has been and that has lead to many other issues throughout the country and the world to some degree. When I got an email yesterday – I did a Google check to see if the stats are accurate, but I didn’t see anything disputing the numbers. Whether the numbers are exactly true or not – it seems to me that it makes a definite statement about the positive power of the US when the country can be united against a common foe.

What do you think? What do you think contributed to this accomplishment?

Imagine That!

During the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the

Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941

and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945,

“We the People of the U.S.A. ” produced the following:

22 aircraft carriers,

8 battleships,

48 cruisers,

349 destroyers,

420 destroyer escorts,

203 submarines,

34 million tons of merchant ships,

100,000 fighter aircraft,

98,000 bombers,

24,000 transport aircraft,

58,000 training aircraft,

93,000 tanks,

257,000 artillery pieces,

105,000 mortars,

3,000,000 machine guns, and 2,500,000 military trucks.

We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services,

invaded Africa,

invaded Sicily and Italy,

won the battle for the Atlantic,

planned and executed D-Day,

marched across the Pacific and Europe,

developed the atomic bomb,

and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany.

It’s worth noting,

that during the almost exact amount of time,

the Obama Administration couldn’t even build a web site that worked.
