EBT Card Outage Abused at Walmart

I heard about a temporary outage where the EBT (food stamp) cards weren’t working, but somehow I missed this part of the story. One person said this reaction was an obvious human reaction to the situation – but a couple on the video clearly agree with me that this was theft – or attempted theft. Take a look at the article I share below – and see what you think.

But I will tell you – this mentality and this abuse are two reasons why so many people feel there needs to be drastic food stamp program oversight and reform.

Unbelievable…

MANSFIELD, LA (KSLA) –

Shelves in Walmart stores in Springhill and Mansfield, LA were reportedly cleared Saturday night, when the stores allowed purchases on EBT cards even though they were not showing limits.

Unbelievable! Stupid of Walmart to do this, and absolute theft by the greedy individuals taking advantage of the situation. When did we become a country of lazy people with no morals? Sad…

    • Watched the videos of Megyn Kelly’s interview with Judge Judy last week and love her mentality about being responsible and being accountable…. she would have way too much fun if any of these people who tried to scam Walmart showed up in her court…

I worked in retail for years and I vividly remember the late hours cleaning up after holiday sales and that pales in comparison to this mess. Those carts would be a nightmare to sort out, not to mention all the potential ruined food that should have been refrigerated or frozen – that was deep in those carts somewhere. Any idea the cost to the stores??

Fraud from people with no credit left on their cards
Employee hours to clean up and restock all those items
      Ruined food for various reasons

Unbelievable — would love to see local law enforcement take any in store video and arrest them. And – to see facial recognition from any in store video and plaster their pix at the front door and refuse to let them shop there. So sick of people abuse the system and others — and nothing being done about it.
