Murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom

I saw a TV show about this case a year or so ago on Investigation Discovery. These crimes happened in 2007 and they are truly heinous. Glenn Beck does a very good job of giving an overview of what happened. Click the link below to watch his segment about these two young people who had so much to live for…

Last week, Oprah made headlines when she compared the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin to the brutal murder of 14-year-old Emmett Till in 1955. During an interview, Oprah said in her mind the two deaths were “the same thing.”

In the wake of those comments, one of Glenn’s listeners called into the Glenn Beck Radio Program to express her outrage that people like Oprah, President Obama, Al Sharpton and others are so quick to publicize racial tensions in the death of Trayvon Martin, but have completely ignored the tragic murders of a young couple in Knoxville, Tennessee. Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom were raped, tortured, and murdered after being kidnapped the evening of January 6, 2007. Glenn, who was unfamiliar with the story, promised the listener he would look into it.

Tonight on the Glenn Beck Program, Glenn shared the story of Christian and Newsom’s truly horrifying death that will make you question why we have allowed ourselves to get to a point where death is politicized by special interests.

This is such a horrific story. I think the only way white American’s will get the same type of coverage for crimes like this is if we use the same tactics black Americans do: march, protest, demand. The racial problems have multiplied tremendously under Obama. He could, and should, do something to address the issue.
