Killing for the “fun of it”

At what point are people going to learn that teens and a sad number of adults need to be taught that human life has a value and that it is WRONG to kill another person – for any reason. But it especially heinous to kill a person “for the fun of it”. Killing a toddler, while trying to rob his mother – killing a teen on a swing in a park – driving down a road and shooting out the window, killing children in a classroom, killing people in a movie theater – and so many more sad examples of the needless deaths of innocent people. As much as I try – I cannot wrap my mind around the idea of following a person down the road and shooting them “for the fun of it”… and I just heard about 5 people being killed outside a church where homeless people were getting a meal…. what is wrong with people???

Police say teens killed Australian student in Oklahoma for the ‘fun of it’

Prosecutors on Tuesday charged two teenage suspects accused of gunning down an Australian student in Oklahoma for the “fun of it” with first-degree murder and a third teen with being an accessory.

Officials say Christopher Lane, 22, who was visiting the U.S. on a baseball scholarship at East Central University, was jogging along a road in Duncan, Okla., after visiting his girlfriend on Friday when he was shot in the back, allegedly by the teens.

The two suspects charged with murder, ages 15 and 16, were ordered held without bond.

Bond was set at $1 million for the third suspect, age 17, who was also accused of using a vehicle while a weapon was discharged.
